The product belongs to the family of legumes and has a high nutritional and health value.Peanuts could be eaten raw, roasted or as peanut butter. Other peanut products include peanut oil, flour, and protein. These goods are used in a variety of foods, such as desserts, cakes, confectionery, snacks, and sauces.
Peanuts are rich in protein, fat, and various healthy nutrients. Studies show that, peanuts may even be useful for weight loss and are linked to a reduced risk of heart disease.
Sudan Peanuts Production
Sudan shares an estimate of 14% of the worldwide production. The western states in Sudan contributes in 70% of the country’s production.
Types of Peanuts in Sudan
The Season of peanuts in Sudan starts from November up to June annually.
There are two types of peanuts in Sudan:
1. Jazira Peanuts: are large size kernels with less oil content.
2. Westren Peanuts: are small size kernels with more oil content.

• White Sesame (Gadarif Sesame): This type is characterized by gradation of the outer color of the seed from white to yellowish white, provided that the colored seeds shall not exceed 5%.
• Mixed Sesame (Commercial): In this type, the colored seeds shall not exceed a maximum of 25% compared to the white - yellowish white color.
• Brown Sesame (Red): Brown sesame seeds are known for its high oil content. In this variety, the outer color of the seeds varies from golden to brown, as it contains 26 % or more of colored seeds.
